From the GSX-R to the RR
Leon Haslam has been officially released from his contract with Alstare Suzuki due to financial problems facing the team.
Deep pocketed BMW seized the opportunity, and Haslem will be taking Ruben Xaus place riding alongside Troy Corser in the BMW Motorrad team for the 2011 season.
I believe this a great move by BMW, as they need a young rider with great stamina and determination like Haslem next to Corser their experienced rider.
Ducati dominates Imola
But Aprilia claims the championship….what an exciting race it was, in race one Ducati claimed the entire podium and in race two Ducati claimed the 1st and 2ed positions.
Checa on the Ducati and Sykes on the Kawasaki gave us a great show, i have never seen a Kawasaki performing that good before….on the other hand Biaggi did not do much in this race as if he was certain of the championship…and a mistake from Haslam gifted the championship to Aprilia.
The final round will take place in France on Oct 3ed. and it will only rearrange the manufacturer standings a bit.
WSBK Misano race highlights
A threesome for Max
Biaggi won both races today at Misano, he led form the middle in race one up to two thirds of the race when he decided to take the lead…in race two he managed to break away from the rest and was impossible to catch.
Race was fun, it was a fight between the titans, Biaggi 39, Corser 37, and Checa 40.
Corser on the BMW led 17 laps of race one, and gave us a nice show until he got tired.. thats when Biaggi Aprilia and Checa on the Ducati made their move.
Kyalami race highlights
Haslam triumph in Kyalami
In Race one Fabrizio on the Ducati took an early lead and was having fun and kept us amused with his slides in and out of corners, it was like watching a stunt rider performing high speed stunts.
Although Fabrizio won race one of the Kyalami round, but the real worrier was Haslam on the Suzuki…he was the star of race one and two, battling against the rookies -Rea- and the geezers -Biaggi- he manged to snatch race two from Rea at the last lap, it was a prertty intense fight.
Manufacturers standings : SUZUKI 222, APRILIA 213, DUCATI 185.
