I have been using it to maintain the bike batteries and the battery of an old car i have in the garage, although it takes a couple of days to fully charge the car battery but it does the job.

I usually park one of my bikes at the office and the rest at home, and after a couple let downs by the bike parked at the office i decided to get another battery maintainer and keep it at the office parking. I looked around locally for something small yet tough, one that is water resistant and can charge car batteries as well but i did not find any. So i decided to order one over the net, did some googling and finally ended up getting the Genius G3500. The G3500 is an 8 Step fully automatic charger, it charges 6V & 12V Wet, Gel, MF & AGM batteries. It’s almost the size of a Pepsi can, light, tough water resistant and very nicely packed. I also ordered extra connecters for all the bikes.

Now the only this i did not notice while reading the specs before ordering is that it only takes 110-120 VAC and not 220-240 VAC !!

So i am gona need a step down transformers .

Lion

Apple

Reviews

Lion

I have been hesitant to upgrade to Lion fearing compatibility issues, but after reading some reviews and a lot of googling i finaly upgraded. While installing, Lion checks for incompatible softwares and place them in a special folder.. i had only one incompatible software which i don’t use, i even did not know i still have it.

The finder windows has a new look, the systems prefs got some nice upgrades especially the Trackpad pane which now has lots of new gestures, the Users & Groups pane and the Mail app got some new features as well. The new trackpad gestures makes you feel as if you are using completely new apps, most of the apps can now run in full screen, a great feature if you are using a Mac with a small screen.

What i did not like is the Launchpad feature, a feature Apple bragged a lot about. The feature displays all your apps including some of the installers and the uninstallers!! but unlike the i devices you can’t remove any of the apps form the Launchpad, and the only way to hide these apps is by grouping them in a folder !!

I have been using the system the whole day today, and am still discovering new features, which i believe will take some time to remember, getting used to and start using them.

I downloaded Lion using this torrent

Best Of Ramadan

Blogging

Commercials

Kuwait

Local

Reviews

Video

YouTube

Zain

The title might be misleading but am referring to TV commercials. But whenever i feel like wasting time i watch satellite TV, i just keep flipping between channels until i feel dizzy and go to sleep.

What i wanted to say is that i have watched almost all of ramadan TV commercials form NBK, Zain, GulfBank etc. either on my laptop or on my iphone and believe it or not i haven’t seen any of them on TV yet.

If you would like to watch them visit Blog 37,i think he posted all of them :-* فُـله .

I’ve Got the Power !

Aprilia

BMW

Cars

Crazy Stuff

Kuwait

Local

Racing

Reviews

Video

YouTube

This is a video we shot last year, we had a demo Aprilla RSV4 Factory, a demo BMW S1000rr and a fully moded BMW E60 M5. bumps, slippery, and big parts of the road were either being resurfaced or expanded -we were riding on the incoming traffic lane most of the time- but the scenery is wonderful…am guessing next year the roads will be Ok.

The highways are great and speeds like 200km would feel like 80km, so be prepared to cruise at speeds of 240-260km.

.

The Bike:

Bike performed very well, i did not face any issues with it other than a burned low beam bulb, we took the coastal route from Syria to Marmaris, Turkey, it was a twisty mountain road that goes up to 2km of elevation and back to zero… it was fun when the surface of the road was good but when it went bad i wished i was on a GS, but the 173hp of that 4 cylinder engine makes you forget all that as soon as you reach the good part of the road.

There was a lot road work going on, so we had ride off road a lot of times…and being on a naked bike helped a lot and i did not feel guilty riding it off road.

I replaced the tires before leaving Kuwait i used dual compound tiers, -hard on the middle and soft on the edges- the tires were good on the highways but slippery inside the city… actually they were slippery only when i fully opened the throttle because the roads were very smooth as if they were polished…and for a bike with that amount of power on such roads u need a much more softer compound unless ur gona take it easy with the throttle.

My K1300R is equipped with Electronic Suspension, Traction Control, and ABS… i always thought that Electronic Suspension, and Traction Control are just gimmicks i can live without and should have saved the money and not ordered them..but this trip proved me wrong….’ll be riding on a road and suddenly the road becomes bumpy and bad, a couple of thumb clicks and the Suspension switch to Comfortable mode and absorbs all those annoying bumps… roads is back to normal, no problem just another 2 clicks take your Suspension back to Sport mode.

Traction Control, the poor thing was working most of the time, -unless intentionally switched off- as explained earlier the roads were as smooth as a baby’s ass, and being heavy on the throttle made the Traction Control go crazy, i was having fun with it and experimenting, the thing works really well…it kicks in even at uneven roads and gives an indication of road quality…i never imagined that it would kick in on a highway and at speeds over 160km…when your speeding you may not feel some bumps on the road as the bike is almost flying over these bumps, but with the Traction Control on you get alerted and its up to you to slow down or continue and hope the Traction Control will take care of you.

Am sure now if i were on a less power bike it wouldn’t be as much fun, and when you are traveling such long distances its very important that the bike be comfortable as much as fun, because its your only means of entertainment until you reach your destination and power is what makes it entertaining.

.

Marmaris, Turkey:

We spent a week in Marmaris which i think it was a waste of time….the beaches are bad, sea is full of garbage, the food is bad….i did not come all the way to Turkey to eat Pizza, steak, or Pasta, i want to eat Turkish food, listen to Turkish music and drink Turkish drinks…and that needed some effort at Marmaris….now the only good thing in Marmaris is women, so if this is what ur after then its Z place and you can taste all flavorers.

.

Rhodes, Greece:

The plan was to only spend one day in Rhodes and then off to Karpathos to meet some friends, but we stayed 8 days because one of the B-King injectors broke down there and we had to stay to repair it, later my friend fell in love with the girl working at the hotel reception!!! so we eneded not going to Karpathos.

You don’t really feel ur in Greece when ur in Rhodes, its very commercial, very crowded and very expensive compared to other Greek islands and the night life is bad….its almost an english tourist colony.

.

Bodrum, Turkey:

I liked Bodrum, its much better than Marmaris -less commercial- but all the good beach hotels are 10-30 kilometers away from the center of Bodrum, so you need to have some kind of transportation or take a taxi which is expensive..some hotels offer free bus service to and from the center but am not sure if the service is available when ur done parting at 5 or 6am….the beaches are nice and clean, the scenery is amazing especially when ur on a bike, food is delicious, and there is a big variety of Turkish food and Turkish night life plus a lot of places to visit.

BMW Soft Bag 2 -Large-

BMW

Reviews

Travel

I’ll be going on a little bike trip next week, and i needed a bag to carry my stuff so i got this BMW bag…its a 55 liter soft bag with a semi hard bottom. form the guys asking me to wake up and join them for a ride, they knew i had the RSV4 Factory and they wanted to see how it performs and properly take it for a spin….i wasn’t interested in waking up early because i thought its still dusty outside, but i took a peak from behind the curtains and the next thing you know am doing +200km/h on the first curve that came my way… -it’s only when the curve ended i realized how fast i was going!-

The first thing you’ll notice about this bike is its tiny size and when i say tiny i mean light and tiny…i never been on one liter bike that is so small ‘n light, i think its even smaller than a 600cc bike.. seams this is the trend now!! once you are on the bike you become a transformer, your body grows 2 wheels and your balls becomes the engine…the bike literary disappears between your legs the only thing that you see from the bike is its side mirrors which are surprisingly functional !!!

The bike is more of a track bike, too firm to be road-practical..riding position is very racy with low clip-ons and high foot pegs, slipper clutch to prevent rear wheel lock-ups, and Brembo Monobloc four-piston brakes that you’ll enjoy touching…altering the center of gravity is made easy by only changing the position of a couple of screws…it has a lot power and goes mental once it reaches 10,000 rpm, but all that can be tamed down by changing the riding mode with a press of a button…but why tame it down when you can push it hard and enjoy the side effects, at the end of the day it’s not how much power you have, its how you use it.

The v4 engine is perfect, it has the horse power of a straight four and the soundfeel of the V twin…fire up the engine up and you’ll hear a very distinctive roar, a roar that can only come form an Italian bike, a roar that takes you back in time…back to when bikes sounded like bikes, engage the gear and that roar changes into a more deeper aggressive roar!!!

Its Ohlins suspension is so damn beautiful, it reads every little bump on the road and feeds it back to your hands, take the bike into a long curve on an uneven road and let it play its melody to your hands and rear….if you are into high speedon the throttle curves, wheelies, and going into roundabouts with a sliding back wheel, then this is your dream bike…this is a bike with a character, a bike with killer looks, a bike that you’ll need to talk to before riding it, a bike that talks back to you …a bike that asks you to push it hard, and shakes its head to tell you when you are over doing it.

The bike is available for test rides, call Bike World to schedule yours and don’t forget to convey my greetings to the bike.
