The 3 day test sessions at Sepang ended today and seams all teams are happy with the numbers achieved on their new 1000cc machines, Stoner managed to do the fastest lap 1:59.607 . Rossi also made great progress with the new GP12 and still fine-tuning it.

I can’t wait for the season to start and hear these new 1000cc machines live at the opening round in Qatar.

As we all know, Carlos Checa has been experimenting with the Ducati GP12 and already has some comments.

Checa claims that the problem with the bike isn’t the chassis as Ducati already experimented with four difference chassises and the results were almost the same ! The problem according to Checa is with tires, Checa added “ When you do not know where the limit of the tire is very hard to develop a motorcycle”

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see the results using different tires.

Suzuki has officially confirmed that it won’t particpating in the MotoGP for the next two years. but they will be back in 2014 with a 1000cc motorcycle. In a press release Suzuki stated :

“ This suspension is to cope with tough circumstances mainly caused by the prolonged recession in developed countries, a historical depreciation of Japanese Yen and repeated natural disasters. Having an eye to returning to MotoGP in 2014, Suzuki will now focus on developing a competitive new racing machine for that class. Suzuki will continue motocross racing activity and support of road racing activities using mass-produced motorcycles, by obtaining FIM homologation and co-operation with the supplier of its development racing kit parts.”

The financial problems and natural disasters Japan has been facing took its toll on Suzuki and other Japanese manufacturers, there was no significant changes in GSX-R line for almost the past 2-3 years ! Where as the European manufacturers -BMW & Ducati- has been very active with the development of new bikes.

A funny interview with Ben Spies by Malaysian FM radio channel.

I was watching the Malaysian round of the MotoGP from the office today and on the 3rd lap Simoncelli slides but somehow manages a save which almost brought the bike up again and unfortunately across the track and into the path of riders Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi.

Both Edwards and Rossi crashed into Simoncelli at the same time, Simoncelli was rushed to the medical center but he succumbed to his injuries at 11:56am local time.

Marco was a great racer we all enjoyed watching him race, he was the spice of the MotoGP.

After the great results Checa achieved during this season, Ducati is planing to have him take part in the development of the GP12 hopping he can ad something the Dr couldn’t !

A couple of months ago we posted about the new movie ” Fastest The Movie”, but we did not have an exact date when will movies be released.

Media X the production company behind the movie just announced that the movie will be premiering in Austria, Germany, Netherlands, and the UK starting Sept 20th, DVDs should be available a couple of weeks after that and hopefully by Torrents once the DVD is out .

Sunday June 5 is round 5 of the 2011 MotoGP and Rossi well be racing with the same hair cut he was going to race with last year in Mugello -June 5, 2010-, unfortunately last year he had an accident during the practice and couldn’t race for a couple of races.

Talk about being superstitious !!
