This may sound a repetition of the previous post.

SWA -Supertest World Association- is an organization that runs the world biggest track test with motorcycle journalists from all around the world to compare the latest bikes in the market.

This year test took place in Greece, with the absence of Ducati, KTM and Bimota, the final ranking -based on lap times, dyno power and torque measurements, comfort, price/performance ratio- was as follows:

1-BMW S1000RR (with distinction)
2-APRILIA RSV4
3-MV AGUSTA F4 1000
4-KAWASAKI ZX-10R
5-SUZUKI GSX-R 1000
6-YAMAHA YZF R1
7-HONDA CBR1000RR

We’ve been having problems with the B-King, one of the cylinders keeps burning the spark plug, so we had to find a mechanic to fix it.

We found a shop that specializes in Suzuki, so we had to extend our stay until the bike is fixed….the hotel that we were staying at couldn’t take us for 2 more nights as they are fully booked..so we left the bike at the shop and and went back to check out and find another hotel.

We hard a hard time finding a vacancy, as all the hotels are fully booked!!!! but finally we managed a room at the Elysium Resort.

The Elysium is much more luxurious than the Apollo and they gave us a Handicapped room – i guess we both looked like ones- which is much bigger that regular rooms…and it had a great sea view.

Next day we wen to check on the bike, and the mechanic said had faulty injector, there was no spare parts at the island and the main dealer in Athens is closed until September…but the mechanic was able temporarily fix it…..he replaced the iridium spark-blug with a regular “dual spark” spark plug which is a bit more heavy duty than the iridium ones but less performance, he also synchronized the throttle body.

The bike is running fine now, but we will call a friend in Kuwait and ask him to DHL us a fuel injector once we reach our next destination….replacing the injector should be easy and we could do it ourselves.

We decided to move to Faliraki, its a near by town full of young people, so i think we’ll be tolerated a bit more here.

We had a hard time finding a hotel but we did finally, we stayed at the Sentido Apollo Blue

Arrived at Rhodes at 7pm….rode for around 50km to a town called Pefkos, spent some time searching for a hotel, showered and went out.

After coming from Marmaris this town feels like a ghost town….its a nice peaceful town but not for us -honeymooners maybe- i think we have to leave tomorrow or we’ll be kicked out.

And here is my bike getting sniffed for drugs -i think- at Rhodes port, good luck in finding any

We left Marmaris Friday Afternoon, we were enjoying it too much that we thought if we don’t leave now we will never leave….Its a one and half hour trip by ferry to Rhodes, Greece.

Destination Greece

We were planing this trip of a while and were supposed to leave Kuwait back in July, but we had to postponed it hoping a couple of our friends will be able to join us, but unfortunately they couldn’t and we ended up only 2 -out of 4- me on my K1300R and my friend on his B-King

We left Kuwait Monday 9pm, reached Syria the next day around 5pm, we intended to stay only 2 days in Syria, rest the first day and ride around the next day.

We spent the first day at the pool, then went riding for around 5 hours between the villages in the mountains… we reached 950m elevation, we were literary over the clouds.

The weather was great and the roads were irresistible so we decided to stay one more day and enjoy storming the villages with our roarings bikes doing +160km on roads that were built for 30km Tractors … people were enjoying the sound of our bikes more that we did !!! maybe because they are used to the 125cc bikes going fast but making pure noise.

We should be on our way to Turkey today.
